Historical Outline
The establishment of the Girard Perregaux watchmaking factory took place in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1856, following the marriage of Constant Girard and Marie Perregaux. About a decade later the company launched its first product. In 1867 the Girard Perregaux factory developed its first legendary Tourbillon which Three Gold Bridges that greatly impressed all master watchmakers of that time.

In 1992 Dr. Luigi Macaluso became the new owner of the Girard Perregaux company. Almost instantly the new leader initiated the production of the Girard Perregaux in-house watch movements. Luigi Macaluso greatly invested into the company's production engineering and construction.

Today the Girard Perregaux sales annually bring more than 100 million dollar through selling of about 20 thousands timepieces. That is much more than the capital once invested by Luigi Macaluso into the company. The biggest part of the brand's watches are powered by Girard Perregaux in-house movements.
